  What is carbon used for

Well, carbon exists in 2 forms. The first form is diamond. It is used of course in jewellery but also as cutting tool as diamond tip. The second form of carbon is graphite and it is used in pencils.

Well young one, its quite simple accualy, carbon has 6 electrons so it can bond 4 times. I hope this has been a help to you.

Is the # of valence electrons the # of times an element can bond?
