Hi its Eden again i attend springwood high school,Brisbanem,QLD, Austalia.sorry my last statement didnt make sense i meant to ask is that true what is on the top is it the truth about who discoverd Zinc my assigment is due on Friday for science and i dont really understand what zinc is all about please can you help me, unless you know other sites that i can look up on it would mean alot to me because i really need to pass scince Thank you lots much appreciated Eden .M Atkins

Well...some sources say that the name origin of zinc is zin (meaning tin) while others say it's zink.

Name Origin:
German: zin (German for tin).
Sources:
Found in the minerals zinc blende (sphalerite) (ZnS), calamine, franklinite, smithsonite (ZnCO3), willemite, and zincite (ZnO).
Uses:
Used to coat other metals (galvanizing) to protect them from rusting. Used in alloys such as brass, bronze, nickel. Also in solder, cosmetics and pigments.
