It costs 79 cents for 100 grams, and it was discovered by Alex Frederick Constendt in 1751. Its name was also originated by kupfernickel meaning devil copper.

It was actually Axel Fredric Cronstedt, and the meaning also is St. Nicholas's copper

does a nickel rust when exposed to air or water?

Actually yes, the transition metal is bound to rust when exposed to water normally. Air is an exception and Nickel does not rust when exposed to. Thank you for asking.
