in which conditions did george brandt work when he isolated cobalt?
which process did he use?
in what kind of laboratory did he work?

(e.g. the curies worked in a laboratory with very poor hygenic conditions)

thank you.

How did Georg Brandt discover cobalt?

He didn't really discover it, he only isolated it. He was the one that found that Cobalt is the reason of the blue tint found in glass. Cobalt had been used for thousands of years before that point. The Egyptians, Persians and even the Greeks used it. Brandt is quoted to have said that there were 6 metals he was interested in in his experiments, namely Cobalt. Other than that no one knows how he isolated it or why...
