Interesting info:
(1)Cobalt compounds have been used for centuries to impart a rich blue color to glass,glazes and ceramics.

(2)Cobalt has been detected in Egyptial sculpture and persian jewelry from the millennium BC,in the ruins of pompeir. Also in China.

(3)The word cobalt is derived from the erman Kobalt from Kobold meaning Goblin.

(4)Cobalt 60 is used in cancer therapy. It is a gamma ray source.

Hi, I'm learning about the periodic table and i have chosen the element cobalt and i wanted to know what family does it belong to. i know its classified as a metal bascially every site i went to it doesn't tell me what family it belongs to...so what is the family. Also i would like to know some interesting facts,common compounds, and its important uses. i thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
