Facts: The atomic number is twenty-six. The atomic weight for iron is 55.487. Iron is a solid. Iron is a metal; infact is the most common meal in today's society. Iron has been known since they year 1100! Iron's symbol is FE. Iron's boiling point is 4982°F. Iron's melting point is 2795 °F. Iron is easy to work with but rusts easily in the damp air. Iron is a mineral found in every cell of the body. Iron is also needed to help keep the immune system healthy and help brain cells work normally. If you have too much iron it could be a toxic to kill you. We need iron in our body to help us survive because without enough iron red blood cell cannot carry oxygen to the other cells in the body. Did you know iron is pronounced eye-ern!
Uses: Iron has many uses being the most common element of the metals. Some uses are steel hemoglobin, making cars, trucks and vans. Other uses are making building supports, making airplanes, making warships, making ships, making computers, and making furniture. here are some cool facts |

Iron wasnt discovered by he egyptains. IUt was discovered by the Hittites in 1500 B.c. they used it in war against other cities because they knew it was stronger than bronze and bronze is what the other armies had.
