chlorine was discovered by Carl Scheele in 1771

chlorine is a very useless element, that is unless you like things like bleach, many types of plastic, your refrigerator, and salt. If you like these things, thank chlorine! There are very few elements that are a waste of space and time if you just get to know a little about them. Don't make judgements out of ignorance.
