Neon is chemically unreactive. It can't combine with other elements to make compounds. but i read somewhere that it can combine with fluorine. is it true? :(

It was dicovered by Sir William Ramsay and Morris W. It's atomic number is 10, the # of protons is 10, the # of neutrons is 10 and the # of electrons is 10 as well. It's symbol is NE and it is a non-metal. The word comes from the Greek word "neos" or "new".
Hope that helps. :)
