how did carbon get its name?
and who discovered it i need to know for my sci project!

Carbon was discovered in 1830 by Sir Humphry Davy. He showed in his experiment that heating a diamond in the presence of oxygen allowed their atoms to combine and form carbon-dioxide. He also showed that with the absence of oxygen, heating the diamond changed it into graphite.
